Michael D. Bean
Michael is the president/owner/head janitor of Allard, Inc. Mr. Bean purchased the company in 1998. He was initially hired at Allard in 1987 as a junior technical writer. After five years, he moved on to work as Manager of Content Development at ZCI Publishing in Dallas. At ZCI he supervised the creation of over 200 multimedia CD-ROM title marketed to the educational market.
Unfortunately for the CD-ROM publishing market, the Internet happened. In 1993 the first widely-used web browser Mosaic was released, followed soon by Netscape’s browser. With the CD-ROM marketplace basically superseded by the Internet, Mr. Bean moved on to more traditional technical writing and went to work for a software developer in Richardson, TX. After two years as Manager of Technical Publications, he purchased Allard and assumed management of the company in June of 1998.
Mr. Bean has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University and now resides in Lubbock.
